Thought: Replace BBs with something dirt cheap, but still solid and small. I think ASIAN RICE (rooster brand, etc), not the instant type. It will biodegrade, is cheap, small, speckle everywhere, will shake out easily, won't mess up gear/weapons/BDUs, stores easily, long shelf life, etc.
Originally thought of dried beans/peas, whatnot, but they're significantly more expensive per pound than a 20-30 lb bag 'o rice.
