Do you want a quieter gun?

It makes a bit of a difference yes, decent decision.

Make you gearbox shell last longer?

No, I haven't seen a gearbox shell break outside of TM's using M140 springs and old school king arms, G&P, SYstema )5 years + old). I've run my new(er) Systema Shell for 4 hard years 100k's rounds including hardball and the front hasn't busted off. Just the little post for the trigger switch.

If you are worried about the front end of your shell breaking off (v2 especially) it's the cheapest preventive thing to do aside from downgrading the spring. AJAX STS does a better job than sorbo IMO for keeping the front end on the gearbox but costs more, advantage of STS is that you don't need to be a guntech to install it..
