Charging Batteries - just seeing if I'm getting it right

First off, most of the rechargeable batteries I use are the run-of-the-mill AA/AAA types that come with matching chargers. But for this sport, there doesn't appear to be a standardized plug-in-and-forget type charger. I've had problems with my batteries conking out within 70-140 rounds of plugging in. It always sounds like a voltage issue - the motor wants to turn, but it's wheezing.

After a fair bit of reading, I *think* I was charging them wrong. Previous charging config (batteries are Intellect NiMH 1600 mAh/9.6V) was at 1600 mA until done, which was like 15 minutes.

After reading, I *think* the proper charging method may be the following, but I would like somebody to confirm.
New charging config: 200 mAh, with 1600 mA cut-off capacity and 8 hours until timer shut-off.
Alt config 1: 100 mAh, 1600 mA cut-off and 14 hr until timer shut-off. (timer maxes as 720 minutes)
Alt config 2: 400 mAh, 1600 mA cut-off and 4 hr timer shut-off.

Do these configurations look right...?

Thanks in advance.
