Soviet VDV, Field Exercise, early 1980's

What I was trying to achieve:

God I love Soviet bling...

Kit list:
2 piece coveralls with Collar, shoulder and arm branch insignia in sky blue (branch insignia arm patches on BOTH arms as per pravda photos)
Blue beret with red star badge (no red flash, apparently not worn on exercise)
Sky blue Telnyashka
RD-54 back pack (with magazine and grenade pouches attached to belt, got to look smart for the photographers!)
AK bayonet
3 cell airborne mag pouch
short leather boots (Naval infantry versions alas)
AK74S

Edit: I have noticed that my coveralls althought not the perferred one piece or the M69 "He-Be's" might actually be that strange 2 piece set that saw some service early in Afghanistan. I thought these were a stop gap for the VDV between the one piece coveralls and the later Mabuta cut fatigues. I see this might not be the case....
