Thats the return spring for the BBU, there's a little slot on the right side where it goes into. When you have the BBU half way into the slide you need to take a screw driver to compress the plastic nub so it goes into it's slot inside the BBU.
Also when installing the plastic nub faces forward towards the barrel.
And you have the plastic nub on the right way.

Yeah that helped a lot actually, there is an overwhelming number of glock variant airsoft disassembly videos on youtube, but nobody disassembles beyond their inner barrel/hopup
