The set screws are often glued in as well, which can be problematic. I've seen a couple of guys really damage their barrels trying to remove those.... ugh. Personally, the only gun I got with an orange flash hider was a CA G36. Rather than fighting with it, I masked off the gun with some tape and newspaper, and sprayed the flash hider with flat black Krylon. Worked like a charm.
