It's made to use CO2, so, it should be ok. I didn't notice any abnormal wear on the internals, nor did I have any other issues using CO2. Very consistent shooting.
You'll know it is worth it when you take the first shot. The only time I would NOT recommend CO2 mags for the KJ M1911 is if you are concerned about the magazine extending from the magwell. From a realism perspective, though, I find that the increased recoil and sound more than make up for the extended base.
I originally bought 3 propane mags, sold them within a week and bought 2 CO2 ones instead.
