For the L85A2:
Take a strong stance, left foot in front of the right, separate your legs by approx 18 to 22 inches depending on height, push your right foot back and to the side keeping the right leg straight. The left leg is to be slightly bent at the knee.
The weapon is to be cradled to the shoulder with the pistol grip in a secure holding pattern in the right hand, the left hand will be displayed in a secure grip upon the fore-stock half way along its length.
The rifle will be brought up-to the shoulder with the stock securely in the nook of the shoulder maximizing area contact. The rifles battle sight alignment will be in clear site of the eye allowing clear sight picture. The weapons safety will be removed, to make ready to fire, upon contact or imminent contact with the enemy.
NEVER PLACE YOUR FINGER UPON THE TRIGGER UNLESS READY TO FIRE UPON THE ENEMY. This is the cardinal rule. OBEY.
