Trying a new setup lately...I might not pack everything everytime, but it's the core stuff that I usually take (since I'm too lazy to unpack it all it tends to stay where I pack it).

in the pockets of my clothes (pants/shirt/jacket) I'll usually have
- knife
- lighter/etc..
- compass
- maps
- wallet/keys

1st line (from front-right-back-left)
- 1 pistol mag horizontal
- pistol in serpa
- utility pouch with first aid, kill rag, maps
- leatherman wave
- dump pouch (in middle of back now...need to move it more to the left)
- rubber knife in sheath
- 2 pistol mag pouch
- double M4 mag pouch

2nd line - Blackhawk RRV with assorted pouches (left to right)
- medic pouch for snacks/odds and ends, knife, flashlight, GPS
- radio pouch + radio + mic + earbud
- 3 x double M4 pouches
- medic pouch...usually holds reloading stuff if the game calls for that, or else it'll hold snacks/odds and ends, hydration or grenades

3rd line - backpack
- 2L hydration
- rain poncho/jacket
- kukuri (whatever that wavy machete thing is called)
- reloading stuff (bbs/loader/gas)
- spare batts for comms/RDS
- tool kit
- first aid, meds (antihistimines)
- snacks
- glow sticks
- zip ties
- pens/paper
- paracord
- unjamming rod
- other stuff (anti-fog, NVG, optics, tape, etc....)
- might have mag pouches MOLLE'd onto it
- might have spare mags (depends on the game)

Ditching the pack it's actually not too bad re. weight/bulk. First line only is really light and quick and typically enough for really quick CQB sets.

Typically need more hydration for a long all day non-stop sim though...so I've got to figure that out. Saw a nice side pouch for that I could fit to the backpack/RRV to hold a nalgene bottle or two...that'd probably do the trick.
