You'd be surprised. There are a few stores starting to mirror the US black Friday sales. Retailer's do anything to make a buck.
I know several people who regularly drive south of the board to get new flat screens and electronics on black Friday. Local stores will put a sale on, whether it's called black Friday or not, to try to appeal to this kind of people. Idea is get something local for a similar price and save the gas.
