on g&g m4, the mechbox gets stuck at the rear. You will have to just a little bit of force to clear the rear. Once you get it out, use a dremel or sandpaper to curve the rear of the receiver so it will be easier to remove in the future. My method is, lift up, tilt forward, hold onto the area of the rear and gently pull the gearbox forward and roll it out. It will be a bitch at first but once you get it, it will be easier.
