Ballooning cylinders is something that RARELY (I'm not saying never because you can never be 100% sure, but read: Rarely on the verge of never) happens, what happens is the O-ring on the piston head will shrink when it's at rest for too long and that will make it seem like the cylinder head doesn't fit well in the cylinder anymore.
