At one point I considered having some German grenade handles turned to mount to timer grenades. I was going to drill a bore through the centre of the handle which pushed against the shuttle stem. Removing the end cap on the handle would allow the stick to move which would start the timer. Instead of having to thread the cap off too many turns to start the timer, I was going to use a bayonet style quarter twist to remove the cap.

Too many ideas, too little time to make sure I can manufacture the damn things reliably. If you make one, please put up a video!
