batteries for G&P

The G&P pistons shattering has nothing to do with the battery as it is the spring that determines how much energy is released. The stock G&P pistons will eventually break regardless.

A higher voltage battery only dictates how fast the piston is pulled back.(spring being compressed) Once the spring is compressed with say an 8.4v, it releases the same amount of energy a 9.6v will.

Now a higher voltage battery will cause you to cycle faster/more (higher ROF) so in that sense, it will shorten the piston life somewhat.
