My personal opinion is that the MP5 is a horrible platform for a first/only gun. I play woodsball and have an MP5 and MP5SD. The mags are long and get in the way. It has no rail system to put anything on. High-cap mags are terrible to wind. Noone has spare parts (at your field), so it's better you have a gun that other players can support. If you forget your mags you can't play.
It's a good gun for realism/CQB, for for practical woodsball any M4 blows it away. There are lots of guns out there that are good woodsball guns - I don't think the MP5 is one. Any no gun is good if you're not age verified.
