Unload BBs from the mags (no clue about GBB mags care) and release the tension on the AEG spring by letting the gears cycle in single fire so the piston is pushed forward all the way. Some AEGs like the G&G L85 pre-tension the spring at the end of the single fire cycle but have a release clutch located in the magwell to allow the piston all the way forward.

Disconnect your battery and store it in away a cool place with half a charge, keep it away from heat sources and sun, never leave batteries on trickle charge, never completely deplete them, avoid storing them with a full charge.

Store your AEG in a gun case after cleaning it, you might want to throw a couple sillica humidity absorber packets in your gun case as well.
