AFAIK the mags only purpose is to get a BB infront of the nozzle, and as the BBs are leaving the barrel, it seems to be doing its job.
Take your barrel and hopup assembly out along with your upper gearbox. Put the nozzle into the hopup as far as it can go and blow down the barrel. If you hear air, then it's a leak, if you don't, then the BBs are most liely getting stuck on something before they leave the barrel.
