Airsoft was created both to look real and shoot with a moderate energy, those are the two pillars that holds up what airsoft is. If it didn't matter what the guns looked like, you could play with something shaped like a blender that shoots 6mm and wear a clown suit while doing it. You can't really argue against the extreme importance of realism in airsoft without looking silly.
Now, you can debate how those two aspects are split in terms of overall importance, but the fact remains that even if it was 80% performance and 20% external realism (ridiculously lopsided against realism), transparent or tinted is still inferior to fully opaque as far realism goes. You can similarly split hair on how far transparent or tinted degrades realism, but even if it's only half (10% out a possible 20%) you've now ended with only ever getting a maximum possible of 90% for cansoft (while real airsoft can be 100%).
It is in that sense that cansoft will always be inferior to airsoft, especially when you are comparing two guns that are identical except for their colour (or there lack of).
