I'd imagine a real PMC doesn't go for a "PMC look"...they just do what works. If a beret works for you, then rock it. But if you really do want to go full-out milsim, then listen to what these guys are telling you. ASC is a goldmine of info like that. But don't get sucked into the "perfect my kit as per pictures of real soldiers" trap if you don't want to.
