Whacked my shin on a low lying tree branch, thought nothing of it as my pants didn't have a hole in them and it was a wet day, so the boots were squelching anyway. Turned out I had a fairly sizeable hole in my shin, my sock and the inside of that boot was absolutely sodden with blood and had to be peeled off at the end of the day.
