Tanx for the tips and links. With those better pictures, I now see that I don't need the cummerbund now. I had the impression the side flaps where not going far enough on the sides. Since I plan on carrying more than 2 mag pouches on the front, I need the side room for more.

I also need the back plate + the ability to use a 3 day pack.

I guesse I'll go genuine, since the pantac replica is a little strange with the back plate carrier. Unless they showed it badly assembled.
