Yes, there are 3-4 BB's that fall out when I remove the mag. For the record I'm using .25 Bastards.

I'm using the standard CA G36 hicap that comes with the gun. If by magwell retainer nut, you mean the nut you have to unscrew to push the pin out of the magwell in order to remove it, then yes it is there.
