Well, mashing the battery with the stock wouldn't be too great for a battery, and duct-taping a loose connection will cause it to short repeatedly. If you can't spend any extra cash on a new battery, at least try to connect it firmly with electrical tape and see if that keeps it from sparking.

Eitherway, I cant speak from experience, since I've never really owned an AEG, but hey, it's a common knowledge.

EDIT: Also, if you're using a large battery in a retractable stock, it will not fit properly. Small batteries for the retractable. If you really want a large battery, get a full size stock.
