Thank you for taking the time to read my thread. I have recently purchased a G&G M4 CQB-R. It works great but 75% of the time the stock will not collapse fully! it seems to hit something just before the second last position. This never happens when the battery is out. Today, I was shooting some targets, I pulled the stock out to charge the battery. I noticed a small metal plate coming out of the negative side of the battery. I put duct tape over it and started to charge it. After it was charged, I put it back on the gun to fire a few more rounds. I connected it to the gun, and the negative terminal flared up! What is wrong?

Any help you can give is appreciated!
