By law, any air gun (Airsoft, bb's or pellets) are illegal to be discharged within city limits unless you have been exempt by the CFO. Most police officers that say things like "as long as you keep it away from public eyes" is not speaking on behalf of the law. ie. good luck getting them to put that on paper.
