One thing while I think of it - The original mags I converted had a port on the bottom of the mag at the rear to install the spring. I made a new port at the top rear to accomodate the "U" internals....

I have cut down a few and the lower profile is cool. I found cutting out the middle section is best but does present the problem DarkAngel described because the mag internals are an odd shape....

inexpensive thread cover

A sanding wheel from a Dremel just fits over the threads. Take an old used one which has lost its grit and paint it flat black.
(You can get them at crappy tire if you don't own a dremel tool.)

Well I finally had a pinion gear give up the ghost... Madmax's technique worked slick. Used a large C-clamp to squeeze the new pinion onto the shaft.

Mods should throw this in AEG solutions.
