Magpul MOE Handguards on ICS
So I just received my Handguards today and I felt sad because I found out the ICS handguard cap (metal circle thingy behind sights) is too small...
So who makes a good handguard cap? |
my CA fits the MOE grip no problem. I don't know if you can buy CA front rings though.
|
can you not just sand them down a bit to fit?

Does the MOE handguards require the real Delta ring assembly or does ICS' work |

You would have to sand down a considerable amount to fit into the ICS cap. And for the delta ring, it wont fit and lock in as the ICS delta ring does not have teeth on the barrel nut for the MOE handguard to lock into. Attachment 15936 ICS Attachment 15937 OTHER W/TEETH (G&P/KING ARMS) |

Would any other handguard cap do? |

I've been playing around with my parts and this is what I figured out;
Attachment 15940 On the ICS barrel are two tabs which have to be cut off in order for the new delta ring (barrel nut) to fit. I tried this with a G&P delta ring assembly. Attachment 15941 The ICS handguard cap is attached to the front triangle sight with a screw (top hole of cap where normally the gas tube goes through), and at the bottom is a smaller hole where a pin from the sight sits in. Either cut this pin off or you can drill a hole in the new cap. And for the screw at the top, the hole in the new cap is bigger than the screw and really can't be used, maybe put a washer? The handguards will hold the cap in place just the same. |
or just simply change a new barrel. The Madbull barrel fit fine on ICS and might need a small modification on hop up unit, that's all.

Thanks for the help....Ordering parts now as we speak!
Also what tool be best to cut off the metal tabs? |
Sucks to do all these on the ICS just to fit the hand guard, luckily it worked fine on my CA.

Also, If you're getting a new delta ring, make sure the threading is metric. Imperial threading will require you to re-thread your upper receiver |
