ICS cansoft vs. ICS full metal

what's the big difference of those two? the internals and externals? which one is better and explain... Mach1airsoft.com has ICS guns. I plan to buy another ICS gun from Mach1airsoft in the future...

nothing is different internally. Cansoft just means the receiver is transparent.

gmds44 February 27th, 2010 17:20

I can't really tell you what's different, since I never actually had a metal ICS, but my Cansoft version, (which is not so cansoft anymore) never gave me any troubles (internal-wise)
The wiring is very nicely done, although m4's don't have fuses

the motor, it's a weaker version labeled "Infinite" on the cansoft version. It's not TURBO 3000, and not very strong at all.

The lower is plastic but upper is metal, and from what I hear this presents problems for durability because of the metal on plastic. I can't guarantee this but that's what I have heard around.

Now with the full metal versions, well... they're full metal so everything is durable.

thats why i never bought one(i have a full metal ICS m4), wanted it for the extra upper but found out it was plastic. i would just go with the full metal goodness thats coming here soon =)

I called the guy from mach1airsoft... they said the motor is the same and all the internals....????? hmmm i guess the main difference is the receiver

theguy February 27th, 2010 18:52

Metal receiver = very worth it.

Don't forget, a standard M4 receiver like a Dboy or G&P will not fit an ICS.

Finding a metal receiver separately will be nearly impossible.

its the american version, its the same thing..... theres ICS company here in america and taiwan

Just wait a bit.

Mach1 will eventually have the full line of ICS metal goodness in stock.

It is worth it.

I had an ICS Olympic Arms '97.

And I managed to find a second metal body (body only).
Bought a cansoft ICS to retro-fit. It was not a straight through process.

The lower mechbox is a bit different. It works, but in my case I had to add a thickness or electrical tape to the bottom part of the insides to properly place the mechbox (Otherwise the rear pin would not fit properly and the mechbox had issues engaging). I would say that is is because it was made a bit cheaper (or faster).

The motor is a POS. Change it for anything you have that work. Even a JG motor is better. No torque, the lifetime of a red fish in a toilet bowl.

Other than that, only the upper and lower receiver shells all the other parts are exactly the same as the normal metal one.

The plastic version is still WAY better than most other M4s out there, but the metal one is worth every single penny.

theshaneler February 27th, 2010 22:23

the biggest difference is that one of these (cansoft) is about to loose all of its value, due to new developments in importation for a certain business

gunscythe February 27th, 2010 22:26

I have several full-metal ICS's and none have had any problems for 3 years. My M16 ICS (full metal) has been a loaner gun countless times, and still shoots reliably and hard.

The bunch of chinese characters basically just means infinite :D

無 = no
限 = limit
