I had a guy on the paintball team I played with tell me "with all the technology advances I'd rather play paintball, played airsoft for 10 years, won't look back at it"

I could only think, sure if you like huge ugly handguns (t9) or extreme lowcaps (my RAP4 M4 held 16 paintballs in the mag and carrying extras was a pain in the ass as they flew everywhere if you touched the mag the wrong way) Lets not forget carrying an airtank on your back. The tech is definately advancing but in my opinion will never be able to compare to airsoft. And the luxuries they have now (more acceptable and easier to obtain than airsoft) will be lost if they get closer to it, so why bother? Don't get me wrong, still like to fling paint once in a while, but I find airsoft to be waaay more realistic and fun.

LOL, I don't mean to nit pick.. But pulls his rifle from the passenger seat?

Anyways, cool to see the owner mentioned Airsoft once. Look forward to playing there once, someday.

looks staged, you can see the jittery transitions when the edited it together.

anyways, looks amazing, can't wait till they paint it.
maybe a few night games?
maybe this scenario ? Insert shameless self promotion here

It looks promising - and amazing from an Airsoft standpoint - the owner(s) deserve some serious respect for that. That's for sure.

bit of tough crowd i see...fair enough. cqb2 is a facility for both airsoft and paintball. i will be blending the technologies for our scenario operations and i feel there are merits for both sides of the fence.

at any rate, we have had several airsoft events at both our indoor and our new outdoor facility. we have solid core doors being installed this week as well we now have street lighting for night games.

every few weeks there will be significant changes to the facility as we approach our fully operational status in the spring of 2010.

lol hopefully no generators running out of gas mid game lol made for an interesting twist sat night. still awesome field glad its open.

Conker February 8th, 2010 14:25

Wow, that's a great field for sure.

I can't say I really like playing in paintball fields due to the paint (I don't care having mud, dust or water on my gear, but I really hate having fluo paint).

That being said, I understand that for rentability issues it's the way it must be.

I'd love to have a similar field in the Montreal area.... A/C sucks.

Seeing as we have access to this facility

AND.. I expect we will be doing lots of events here..

I recommend people relegate some of their gear to use in such places.

I have a Dedicated PB-PLACE gear suite .. so that I don't care about the paint..

makes for a great deal of freedom of action when you are not worried about gooping up your gear.

Look a little small, but it would be fun for a small group skirmish.

StrikeFreedom February 8th, 2010 15:35

By installing realistic windows (ie. with plastic/glass), wouldn't it actually decrease the realism? Since airsoft/paintball can't shoot through, the person inside can effortlessly spot the outside?

Footprint is I think 30 m x 60 m

for a CQB environment that is pretty large.

You don't want it too big or you end up being unable to hit visible targets due to range limitation in the weapons.. The best environment is one that someone in the middle can hit and be hit from any place in the environment.

I think this is better as then the glare outside looking in will make it hard to see people inside but people inside can see out well. Just like real.

I agree. My main gripe is the large open U shaped space with all building kinda interconnecting. With airsoft range and precision, I can totally see 2 guys completely denying movements of a whole squad only by supressing in the openings from one side of the playing erea. But that's just from the vid, I'd be curious to see in real.
