Is there any particular reason for replacing the gearbox? KWA V3 boxes are pretty hardcore and bulletproof for the most part. IMO, you'll be paying $200 to replace the internals with pretty much what's in there now. I'd say that the existing internals are probably better quality anyway.

heres some history behind the gun. 2 days after getting it, gears stripped. replaced gears. 3 dry fire cycles after repair, piston snaps. changing the piston, spring crushed.. dont know how but it is crushed.. like compressed.. the nozzle of the gearbox is cracked and splitting... this is still only 4-5 days after getting the damn thing. whats the verdict now? lol

Wow.. Ok. Then I'd say you have ample grounds for replacing the internals. KWA V2 boxes tend to be problematic, but generally their V3 are good. Guess you got one of the lemons.

Then yes, I agree this would be your best route, as it seems like you pretty much have to replace all your guts except the wiring, which will be the same price as this complete replacement.

any thoughts regarding whether or not i should replace the motor? if so which one of the 3 would you recommend to go with the gearbox ive selected?

thanks again

My son uses a KWA G36C which we have run stock for 1.5 seasons. He has shot A LOT of BBs as we played average 2 times per week this last spring/sumer/fall. I will be peeling it open next weekend when I am at home for more than one day in a row. I'll see what those internals are like then.

As far as the motor... The stock motor for KWA is very good, far superior to many stock motors (especially Chinese guns) and yours has very little use :p Use it with your new mechbox, and save yourself some money.

I'd also say if there's nothign wrong with your motor, there's no need to upgrade. However, I'm a big fan of the Guarder Infinite Torque. I have that in 2 of my guns (including my G36C), and it's a great motor.

However, just to let you know - the new Guarder motor I got (from airsoftparts) had a defect. The pinion gear on Guarder motors is press fit, and the hole in the gear was too wide, causing it to spin freely on the shaft. However, Jugglez, being the exceptional dealer he is, sent me a replacement gear (at no charge) which worked fine.

I have no experience with the other motors, so I don't have an opinion on them one way or the other.
