Repost. There was someone here a month or two ago showing the same thing. They look interesting. Though personally I have no problem talking or drinking with the cheap one I have now but Ive been wearing them for years so Im sure it helps.

Repost, are you referring to my JOC post a month ago? If not, I did a search on ASC and nothing came up for "Protech" or "Protech Dent" or "Akervall Technologies" would that not make this a new post that and the fact you could not buy these in Canada till today? there is a mouthguard post from 2006, my bad.

This is awesome!!!! I wonder if it really works.... i have been playing with a mouthguard, and its become a running gag amongs the boys how retarded i sound.... And well, the drolling does not help... I shimmed them, made them smaller, did everything, but yet, even tough i'm used to them, they still are not extremely comfy.... I might give em a try, hey, cant be worse than what i already have.... lol

I may have to get one of these. Been shot in the mouth a few times.

Too bad it's not a double mouthguard... I end up rarely using mine anyway.

I got my protech dent yesterday it fits great and is very comfortable. I can speak better with the protech dent than any other mouth guard I've owned including my lower profile night guard. The protech dent is thin 1.6mm and is supposed to give 30% more protection than normal mouth guards.

The package came with two protech dent guards. The protech dent seems very robust. I'm not sure that you need the second guard. So you could save some cash if you can find someone to go half on it.

Also the protech dent seems to be made out some sort of memory plastic. I had some bite marks on my first try (I didn't have the water hot enough, the instruction are very specific and call for 50 C). When I placed it back in the hot water the second time, I had a hard time seeing the initial bite marks I made.

When done right the fitting takes minutes, mine turned out to be a tight but comfortable fit. I was a little curious about the matrix of holes. I thought there would be less of a suction effect holding the guard in. but the fit is tight.

For the strange people that drink through their teeth, you can do this with protech dent.

I've lost two teeth 14 yrs ago then the cost was over $8,000 to get implants, so $30 for some preventive measures is cheap.

You said the package comes with two: what's the second one for, is it supposed to be for the bottom row of teeth? (split double mouthguard wtf?)

Otherwise how much protection is you jaw getting? Is it the same as a regular mouthguard (non-double)?

I think i will order some,just gotta decide between white or pink, lol!!!

I know my dentist does custom mouth guards, so if you've got dental insurance you could do that?
