Sniper Gear
 

Heyo, everyone

I've recently acquired a Maruzen APS-2 SV, and have upgrades in the mail.
So far, ive been working on my gear, and would like some ideas! I've seen a couple different setups, such as Fox's, and CDN_Stalkers gear, but i would like to know what else it out there!

What i have: Condor Assualt Pack(Capable of holding everything i need, including hydration) but i need to figure out where to hold my mags, and pistol with ease of access. In a back pouch isnt very easy to grab, so i would like other suggestions, or comments about my gear, or what to buy!

^^ Would you wear the pack on your back?

Cause if your in the prone position.. Wouldn't that be fucking lame to be laying on the whole time? :P

You want to stay away from larger things on your back as it makes you a bigger target. When your prone you will have a much higher profile and be easier to hit. There are tons of options for you and no one will be able to tell you what exactly to get. Everyone has different preferences for gear. I can recommend what I use/like , being HSGI suspenders and sniper waist pack , you can attach a dropleg holster to the belt.
You can also go with HSGI suspenders and a molle waist belt and attach a holster and mag pouches to it.
It all depends on how you play the game , IE if you want to use more mags and have more gear , or you want to carry as little gear as possible.

It's not a pack, it's a chest rig, and it's MUCH thinner than the molle chest rigs I've seen
Besides, It's very rare that I go prone while sniping anyway :p

If you're going to play a sniper type role, most guys wear their stuff on a belt with or without suspenders and keep their kit to the sides and back. If you do alot of crawling or hang out prone for any length of time stuff on your front gets old real fast.

Some people like to have their pistol in a drop leg, but I find it hangs up on too much stuff when you are crawling. I end up putting in in a high ride holster on my belt.

A backpack is a definate must on longer games, but you may find that it's more of a pain on short games where you cant ditch it for long periods of time. You can always whack a canteen on your belt.

Thanks for the replies guys, im leaning towards Thunders Setup, as here in Op-for, most of our games are pretty high paced, little time to crawl and lay down. I threw on my chicom with my Assualt pack, and is surprisingly comfy, and is sleek enough to lay down when i need too.

Definatly nothing on the legs as it would make crawling and resting in position almost impossible.

Same thing for a backpack. Impossible to crawl extensively with on in thick brush. It also make you a large target, wich in airsoft get you killed more easely than in real life.

If you want something different, look at sniper in Iraq and Afghanistan. They use a lot of suspenders and chest rigs. A lot of variety. They all have in comon the fact that they allow for a confortable prone position or to be rapidly dumped to the side.

Note the load bearing vest over armor. The pouches on the front look slim.

For airsoft, your kit should be slim enough to fit under a ghillie suit, since most engagements are within less than 300fts. Wich is danger close in real life.

Cool nice picture you got there. Give me a better idea how gear up as a sniper.

Well, I'll try the Assualt Pack and Chicom, Im small enough as it is, so it wont make me that much bigger!

Why do you need an assault pack?
I can't say you can't use one, but if you play with a ghillie, you will need to dump it for the stalk.

That , and what I have found is that you underestimate the size and usuaully end up getting shot in the pack when you think your behind cover. That counts as a hit. Alright thanks, I could always go a different route later on if it doesn't work for me, plus I'm not going the ghillie route just yet

You really don't need to carry much with you when you play that role, bare basics, water and ammo, pistol and not much else. A pack will get you spotted easier, and will also get in the way often. Also makes it harder to sling your rifle if you need to.
