Airsoft rifles, antique styling?
 

Howdy all!

New to the sport, have played paintball for years.

Can you buy airsoft rifles that look like antique guns? I was thinking of a Henry lever-action or a breech-loading Sharps:

I have never seen a rolling-block Airsoft gun. You can certainly buy other more popular antique replicas such as the Colt SAA or certain lever action rifles in GBB form.

Antique replicas (replicating a firearm originally manufactured before 1898) are exempt from the importation restrictions that we face with modern firearm replicas as they're not defined as prohibited devices/items. An individual can import an Antique replica, provided you can prove to customs that it is indeed an antique replica.

It'd be awesome on many levels.

yes, I know you can't get airsoft guns across the border

Marushin and a new China airsoft company as an M1892 rifle out (I personally want to get the China airsoft one to play around with. I love those rifles!)

And Just recently someone had braught out a springer flintlock pistol that looked really neat. I think its the same guys (KTW?) that do those really high quality ww2 battle rifles. Check out Redwolfairsoft.com and it might be on there... But there is little to no chance of getting it into Canada easily. Best to get age verified and see what you can arrange.

nope, it was made well into the late 1930's and it is a centre-fire.

Plus any gun made before 1898 that is magazine fed is not considered an antique. This includes lever actions, bolt action rifles (that aren't single shot), etc. If it is centrefire, it must be an obsolete cartridge that is no longer in large scale production and if memory serves me right it has to be over . If it is rimfire it must be any cartridge other than the .22 family. There are many many more restrictions that I'm not even going to go into...

Blah blah blah...the point is nobody is going to make a large scale production single shot antique style rifle that was originally chambered in some obscure and now obsolete cartridge...unless you can get your hands on an airsoft musket (why!?) you're out of luck and should just buy these guns through the proper channels.

every month one of these threads pops up and people go on and on about which guns are admissable as antiques and which are not and which ammunition theyre sposed to use and whatnot, really fucking boring and not related to airsoft at all, fuck this shit.
