Aftermath Kraken

This gun says 350 fps, but is it with .12 or .20?

not sure but more then likely .12

It will work in pinch, but if you can afford a slightly better gun from somewhere like 007 airsoft, I think it would be better, better upgrading, and cheaper in the long run since you won't be buying a new one every year...

But it will work, and in the end the carpenter is more important then the hammer.

Cheers,

Ken

Thanks, I know something better would be nicer but it seems pretty good. But 300 fps is less than I would like, so I'm hoping for 350

a new spring is $20

FPS means nothing.

Aftermath kurz is a AK-47 Beta Spetz with solid stock. The gun pictured on the basspro website is an Kraken aftermath Ak-47 with black furniture.

From the aftermath website.

Aftermath guns are chronied with .2 Gram bbs
This model shoots at 350fps an indoor CQB model.
Krakens shoot at 380 fps on .2s some people have gotten 400 fps on .2s
Looks like basspro got the info on their website wrong.

Its 350fps with .2, and also the Kurz does not look like that, the Kurz is a short barrel AK Variant.

I've got a kraken and it can shoot through both sides of a can, so it's probably with a 0.2g bb

Lucuis October 24th, 2009 05:40

I can confirm it's rated for 0.20s, I chronoed my stock Kraken AK-47 last week and it was shooting ~340 FPS with 0.25s. Which would be ~380 FPS with 0.20g BBs.

Lovin' this gun, had it 3/4 of a year, gone through 4000 BBBastards without a single issue.

Doing some preventative maintenance soon thought. Ordering some Steel Bushings, Shims, M90 Spring, Tightbore Barrel, Bearing Spring Guide, Cylinder and Gear Grease. Gonna be sweet.

not sure about the Kraken but I bought the Aftermath Broxa and its amazing, I've been playing for 2 months now against $300-1000 guns and I have no problems, getting tons of kills. Great gun, but get another batter the one that comes with the gun will only last for about 1300 rounds.
cheers...

I wouldn't recommend it; it has a plastic gearbox.

EDIT whoops, I was thinking he said Kurz, not Broxa.

However, both are shit.

eh everyones first this or that is amazing. I bet we all thought our first car was the fastest thing on four wheels....

pusangani October 24th, 2009 10:53

Kraken is 370fps w/.20s
Broxa has a metal gearbox but is still crap
Kraken Kurz is plastic gearbox and is total shite

try just try the search function next time, there are too many threads on this gun already

370 is too hot for indoor but is perfect for outdoor, fps isn't everyhing, noobs think it is but it really isn't

Don't buy a sniper for your first gun, get age verified and buy from the classifieds, don't buy airsoft if you aren't 18, it's not the law everywhere but it's our rules on this site

I think that's about it

Lucuis: The last post was Oct 5... Please check last post date before you post.

Stock it should be shooting around 370 I don't know why it would say 350 on the box. I know before they used to shoot around 340-350 however since noobs only care about high FPS they upped the spring and made it shoot 370 (however now it has a higher chance of breaking since the stiffer spring puts more strain on the internals)
