Back up Electric Pistol

I was wondering if it was possible for me to buy an Electric Pistol to use as a back up gun for around $60. I don't care if it's blowback, but it would be nice if it could go over 200 fps and would last some time. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

If you can find one, for that price and velocity, go for it. About the same as having a springer as a last resort gun. Meaning, it's the third or fourth backup I'll use that I would have on me (typically my MP5, then my G19, then a MK23 GBB...........and will take my TM MK23 springer along with me too as a just in case gun since my GBB are flakey now).

ok, cool. I found a Walther P99 for $55 at Cabela's. Shoots 180 fps, full and semi auto, 15 shot mag (comes with 2). I'm thinking about it but I am just worried that 180 fps isn't enough.

Do not get a electric blowback. Find a AEP (non blowback TM design), they should do around 200-230fps with .2s and are worthy of a backup.

I thought that's what he was talking about, an AEP.

any websites that sell those? I have yet to find a good solid pistol in my price range.

Copcarman September 22nd, 2009 12:14

For your pricerange, i'd suggest a crossman as an absolute last resort.

ehobbyasia.com
if i order from them could i get screwed?

Go for quality, not price. And get age verified, then you'll gain access to the classifieds on here, there are lots of guns for sale.

Ok thank you for the great advice. I saw this one, it's TM, 190 fps which is alright for $34 US plus shipping. It's from Ehobbyasia so I'm not sure if it will make it through customs or not. Anyways here's the link:

I like it mainly because 1) it's silver, and I've heard not to get black if ordering internationally 2) it has an orange tip to make it legal in Canada 3) it is a Beretta so extra mags are easy to find. Am I right?

Qlong September 22nd, 2009 12:49

1) No, regardless of colour, it is still deemed a replica firearm by the CBSA.
2) Nope, this law does not apply to Canada.
3) Probably not as not many people use electric pistols in the first place.

Copcarman September 22nd, 2009 13:18

Especially not number two, up here in canada, the tip of the barrel doesn't matter, it's the lower frame/reciever that has to be clear up here.

And usually the beretta AEP mags are thin, crescent moon shaped ones, so they're harder to find.

the mag they have on the same site for $5 so I'll probably buy 2 or 3.

When people say don't order black guns what they mean is non clear. not specifically black but anything non-clear black, silver, tan, purple, bright red they all fall under evil black guns that you can not import.

Please take the time to review the information provided in this link in regards to importing airsoft from outside of Canada.

The gun you linked is an EBB, regardless of the fact that it is made by TM its performance compared to an AEP or even a springer pistol will be extremely poor.

For the price range you quote you will be hard pressed to find anything in Canada that will have even the slightest amount of performance. If you can maybe save up for around the $150 CAD area you could maybe pick up an AEP cyma glock from a retailer or out of this websites classifieds section.
