Quote:

Full steel and aluminum construction
Smooth firing gearbox
Licensed and tasteful trademarks
VERY high build quality
Most affordable M82 replica to date
It’s a Barrett. Enough said

Overall:
I was blown away when I first opened the box on this gun, and it continues to impress me to this date. Yes, I actually have skirmished with it, and found it to be very skirmishable out of the box. With a few upgrades, it’ll have terrifying performance to match its terrifying looks. Overall, I am 100% satisfied with this gun, and look forward to more unique releases from Socom Gear!

That M82 just made me make a mess in my pants... way to go MadBull!!

I've got a love/hate thing going with the M82.

Love the rifle...hate that in airsoft it's just going to shoot the same 6mm plastic at the same velocity as every other gun on the field (generalization). You should be allowed to shoot 0.9g 8mm BBs @ 500fps out of that thing!

On a design note...sucks they built it for a version 2 mechbox....I get why, just sucks (although it won't matter of our typical field velocities).

full auto M82..... over kill much... needless to say. I WANT ONE

Yeah no kidding! About time someone made a M82 :) My all time favorite.. Probably cost you around 2500 when it made its way here though :/

That's over 10 joules! I don't think I want to play airsoft with you!!:rolleyes:

LOL...it's a 50 cal....you should be able to punch through barricades with it...:D

R.I.T.Z September 28th, 2009 12:15

well of course, theres a reason its called the Barrett M82A1 50 caliber ANIT-MATERIAL rifle

I hope madbull releases the internals for the powdershot grenade separately as originally promised, so those who own the foam grenade can upgrade to powder shot. I cant believe it took them over a year and a half to come up with that.

Mitchell12 September 28th, 2009 13:10

What's the point of powder shot though? Sure it might get on you but isn't the point to get hit and feel impact?

I think it really depends on your field rules or host rules. Sometimes if a grenade goes off within 'x' feet you're dead.

Thats similar to a paintball impact wich is something like 8 joules more or less and the bb is larger spreading the impact over a larger area you'll definatly feel that sucker hit!

of course i'm not sure of what kinda of damage it could potentionally cause.someone will have to take one for airsoft sceince.

Average paintball weight is about 3 grams... field limits around here are 300 FPS...

Do paintballs really hit at 12 joules?

clear_gun_guy October 10th, 2009 09:22

yes, in fact 12.54 Joules....

Energy = 0.5 * Mass (Kg) * Velocity^2 ((m/s)*(m/s) or ((m^2)/(s^2))

therefore:

first off, 300 Feet per second = 3600 inches per second = 91440 millimeters per second (25.4 mm per inch); this gives 91.44 meters per second

Energy = 0.5 * 0.003 * (91.44*91.44)

Energy = 0.0015 * (8361.2736) = 12.54 Joules

booya
