STAR M4A1 Hop-Up

So now that I will be keeping my STAR M4 I need to take care of the problems that came with it, the Biggest problem to me at least is that the BBss fly 30feet over the target with hop up turned off, I have taken the Hop-Up out and cleaned the barrel and the BBs still do the same. Any Ideas what can be causing this.

Thanks

Have you tried 0.28g BBs? It's all I shoot from mine. Even 0.25g is too light, and 0.20g is just impossible.

I've tried .30g BBs they want to do the same thing just not as bad, The only thing I can think of being the problem is the 2 piece Hop-Up bucking, the on part has a small rip in it, that I just noticed now.

I put in a Lower power spring and I'm getting the same problem.

Spring power won't fix it. Try a set of H-nubs. The white has a tendency to under hop on most settings, but the black works pretty good.

I have a Gurader Nub that wont fit the hopup, every time I fire with it in it just pops into the small hole ware the Figure 8 looking nub would slide into.

I also have the Guarder clear hopup sleeve set, but I never use the clear nub. I've gotten the purple nub from a Prometheus set to work just fine, though.

ok I'll try it and see what happends

Did your BB's Fly up when the Hop-Up was off as well? With 0.20G.

Yes.

One thing I noticed with star's hop-up design, is when you think you've set it off, its actually fully on. You had to turn it all the way, then turn it back just slightly, then the hop-up will be completely off.

Ah, ok well I'll try some .25's or .28's because I already have a whole new ARES Hop-up Unit on the way.
