AK Chest rig.

Hey guys and girls.

I'm looking for a new AK chest rig to run with, I like the one I have now can store loads of mags (12 if I wanted to) but I'm looking at options for something more "high speed low drag" sort of feel.

I used a chicom once last year and I loved that it was nice, light easy as hell to work with. Downfall was it could only hold 3 mags (I'm told you can modify it to hold 6 so I may look into this)

I'm using 7.62 mags (47, AKM) so a Lifchik is partially out of the question.

My ideal is to hold 9 mags in said chest rig.

I'd prefer it in a nice and easy chest rig vs a vest (M22 or M23 or such) but I am open to suggestions.

Any input is welcomed.

Thanks

Base Molle chest rig foundation + molle AK mag pouches

Eagle makes a Molle chest rig platform

Also allows the foundation to be used for other systems .. with a pouch swap

Eh, call me the picky itch you cannot scratch...
But molle = too tactical for me :)

Blackhawk Commando Chest harness. It's old school and shaped for AK mags.

SPOSN Smersh or ANA 6sh-92 vests hold 8 mags comfortably, and a whole ton of gear also. Easy drop in and pull out of mags, Russian quality as well.

Forget this bullshit American MOLLE gear these 4 clowns above me are recommending http://www.theakforum.net/phpBB2/ima...s/icon_lol.gif

Looks pretty sexy. The next on my list. Dmitry is also great to deal with. It also holds the 9 you desire ;)

SPOSN Smersh takes the win!

I love it hahaha, thanks Conscript. :)

I agree .. I have quite a bit of Russian gear .... and like it..

Nevermind my foolish Molle suggestion... what was I thinking?

I have this for my 74u. It easily fits two mags per pouch, 8 total, with a little pocket behind them for the extra one. Its buttons + velcro, and holds the mags in well enough. The only issue with it is its not for bigger guys, i am a skinny mother bugger and it sits on the belly on max adjustment, anyone with some heft to them will end up with the rig on their chest, which is not on.

A CF Grease Gun mag bra will fit AK mags really well and sits very tight against your chest.

Like wise, CF C1 mag pouches are easily converted to hold two AK mags.

I prefer my Russian Splav "Pioneer M23" chest rig. Hold 8 mags, has an internal admin pouch, can carry a bunch of grenades and other stuff. Built strong like tank.

This is what I've been beating on for the past four years. Other than smelling funny and having grass and burrs in the pockets, it still is in exceptional condition.
