Looking for a threaded AK-47 metal outer barrel

I broke my threaded on my CYMA AK and I can't find any threaded outer barrel. Any ideas?

Sounds like your going to need a new complete outer barrel, but i might be wrong, I have never owned an A.K. and thus, never taken one apart.

I'm sure theres many people here who know much more on the topic then me who would be able to confirm

AK are threaded on the front sight, not the barrel, replace the sight

heeh i have 2 aks in here and its the barrel thats threaded

Thenooblord June 16th, 2009 19:58

well on my CYMA it was the front sight, maybe yours are different brand and made differently

lemegacool June 16th, 2009 20:05

sorry nevermind its the front sight... stupid jello brain... lol

Well on an AKM the barrel is threaded but I was refering only to the front tip of the barrel, to attache a silencer. My tip broke on my CYMA front end set and all I found to replace the outher barrel was PDI Duralmin outer barrel but none of them has a front threaded tip. :)

that is what we are talking about, the front tip of an AK that is threaded is part of the front sight

Ah ok I see

ancorp June 17th, 2009 18:52

Perhaps an ICS barrel would fit? It's threaded.

Thanks Ancorp, I'm trying to import a front set with a threaded out barrel. If it does not clear customs, I will go for a PDI dulramin 590mm outer barrel. My point is to install a 590mm 6.00 inner barrel. I already bought a suppresor to hide it but the CYMA front par that was threaded broke. Monkey metal I guess, can't blame them!
