Trying to trace someone in Canada

Ladies and Gents, fellow airsofters,

I am sorry to burden you with this problem, but I am near the end of my tether with this.

I am trying to trace a guy, from Calgary AB, who has owed me nearly Can $300 for a year after promising to send me some kit. He has also claimed to be over in Ireland and London, with the kit, and yet it never appeared.

He seems to be ignoring me now so I find myself in a position where I will very soon be making contact with either the RCMP or the Canadian Courts in an effort to recover my money. Despite numerous chances, false promises and lame excuses to return my cash he has not yet done so.

If anyone knows of:

Pacific_Ranger
aka
Alpine
aka
Dustin Bouchard
aka
Isakalokas

Please pass this link to him and I hope that I will recieve a swift resolution to this year long problem.

If this is the fellow I'm thinking of, please register on the JOC Airsoft site here:

http://www.jocairsoft.com/forums/

Ask the admin Gish for some help as well.

This fellow has been banned from pretty much every airsoft forum in Canada, some many times. No decent person will have anything tyo do with this fellow.

Please PM me and I'll pass on some additional info, and you can let me know if we're talking about the same fellow here.

Thank you for the help.

To be honest, what you have mentioned doesn't surprise me.

I feel that maybe the only way I stand a chance of recovery of my cash is the courts

Although it may not help you recover your money, a call to the local RCMP (federal police departement, mail fraud comes under their jurisdiction) might at least prevent someone else from being caught.

The only real thing you can do on your end is make a compilation of all messages and any communications sent to each other. It also helps if you have receipts and a paper trail of some sort.

If you have everything documented and in a neat pile/archived when it comes time to act you'll have everything you need.

Why did you wait a year? Honestly, I know be a good guy, benefit of the doubt and all but I would have waited 3 months, maybe 4 tops before threatening him with a call to the RCMP. Especially being international as it is...

B.C.Hawk June 9th, 2009 01:14

The last person in the Kelowna area that had any contact with this wingnut was HELLFIRE989. That was awhile back.

The Man from the UK June 9th, 2009 11:24

I appreciate that it's probably a lost cause, but you know how some people (me) can be, call me gullable or just plain a nice guy in giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I have numerous email conversations on the matter saved. Unfortunately I lost the address he gave me as it was on an old laptop that went fubar.

RockinShaun, I would appreciate any assistance from your friend in the RCMP, I have the phone number that "Dustin" gave me and I think also a friend of mine has his Cell number. If he is interested in the "email papertrail" as evidence etc then I would be happy to email them over to him, to an official email address.

I admit I was caught by a scammer and I know we all have them all over the world. It's great to know that they are few and far between and that there are a lot of great people who are willing to help.

By the way, the email address I have for him, I know he uses as he logs in to MSN on it.

With a proper technique it's possible to find his IP if you can get him to respond on MSN. So I've heard anyways it's a simple process of elimination. This could help locate him a little more and see if he's moved much.

BloodSport June 9th, 2009 17:31

Sorry to hear that this scammer is still pulling his old tricks.

His "being over seas" claims were most likely false as well. I cant count how many times I heard him say he was flying to Ontario for a game, or on a bus to somewhere in Sask. or Manitoba for a game, then no shows.

As everyone has said though, he has been banned from most forums, and if he's back on one currently its under an alias that has not been found out yet.

If you do go the RCMP route, have one of them contact me and I'll dig up his old IP addys here for them to try and trace him as long as the accounts have not been physically deleted already.

There are a couple of forums that he is also registered on where, due to our Data Protection regulations, the relevant authorities can request his IP.

I have him on MSN under his Pacific_Ranger tag but as usual he doesn't reply.
