buying metal upgrades outside Canada

How's that? Ordering spare parts(outer barrels, magazines.. etc) outside Canada(US, Taiwan...) how does it work... Anybody here got experience doing this and getting these parts past Canadian Customs... and doesn't a purchase like that "put one in shady" character book?????

BerettaPX4Storm
KP HICapa 05
WaltherCP88 Competition,
1911A1
WinGun Sport 7Series

More or less, bodies and frames are prohibited.

Quick question, apart from the KP 05, none of those are airsoft guns right?

pusangani June 2nd, 2009 00:39

beretta and the walther are prolly airguns, the others come in airsoft versions

sortie39 June 2nd, 2009 03:42

be careful about some outer barrels, sometimes it does happen that custom is gonna confiscate them.

SHÖCK June 2nd, 2009 07:19

outer barrels and slides are generally supposed to be allowed, but can get confiscated if they see serial numbers

air soft guns

Yes, only 1911A1 & KP HiCapa 05 are air soft, the rest are 4.5 lead pellet guns..

Don't try the airsoft guns they WILL be confiscated. Pellet guns should be fine but why not get one through a Canadian airgun store (I'm pretty partial to the Anschutz 10m air rifle line myself)? You'll at least get a warranty that will be honoured and by the time the smoke clears you'll be paying more getting it somewhere else than going to CT or whatever to buy.

Also do you want parts or guns? Parts will be fine except anything restricted.

where does it say in his post or the thread title that he wanted to import guns?

L473ncy June 2nd, 2009 12:43

I'm getting mixed messages here he says parts in the original post but lists guns in the content of the post.

If he said something like I want some grips for my 1911, or a slide for my Hicappa it would be more clear.

pusangani June 2nd, 2009 12:48

i took it to mean he wanted parts for the guns he listed, which are mostly airguns anyway

parts, spares, etc

I just let know what I have in possession... not that I been looking for spare parts for pellet guns... to me , pellet gun parts, if any fail, may be obtained in Canada through stores I bought them in... my concern is the BB guns that I have-HI Capa 05 and 1911 A1... Ai for that stupid red tip, that's why I have been making those questions about availability of outer barrels, and, Hi Capa, I would love to change that almost transparent grip... I seen either all black plastic and one all metal on the net... how real does it look that I might get one from US or Taiwan??? One chance in a 1000.....???
And then, I have that great big revolver shooting 4.5 speels.... they use shells, looks pretty "realistic"... I wonder if I could get them from EVIKE, as it's the only place they're in.. (in fact, those shells are like see through... they only look like " they're real stuff ...)
These are my "tiny problems.. as , say, speed-loading the 6-shooter with "almost real-looking shels is kinda hot ...
Also, for my M1911A1 I would like to change the hammer(?) or whatrever name it is, as in the construction, it's slightly on one side , as it gets "rubbed" on one side too much( it should have been installed with some space between the body(sliding top and the hammer.. so I have some technical problem too solve too... I will post some pics of the problem, maybe somebody may come up with a solution

How do I post pictures here????

The pistol grip is usually known has the frame of the pistol and is illegal to import. For the shells, out of Canada is no no too. For the barrel, is it just painted or is it a orange plastic tip glued there.

L473ncy June 3rd, 2009 21:06

Everything should be good except for the shells.

Hammer should be fine. RA Tech is where you should probably go for that, I know theres a guy who retails stuff from RA Tech but I believe you must be AV'ed to get parts from him.

Outer barrel although is legal for importation if the CBSA see's serial numbers on it may seize it. If they do then just appeal the seizure.

PARTS FROM OUTSIDE cANADA...

The pistol outer barrel feels like having been dipped in orange paint ... Not glued on(the gun is KJW M1911 A1 Colt)... Heard some filing it off, sounds horrible to me, use nail varnish cleaner? Using any other force to rub it off looks it might damage the under oxi paint... Anybody has had same problem?
