KJW High capa problem!

I just bought this gun like 4 hrs ago shot great it was a dream as its my first GBB, I painted the lower receiver black, I did this by disassembling the whole guns lower half painting only the plastic parts no metal at all. On a side note it runs on c02(i like to practice in my room sometimes.

Thing is i think the problem may be from me reassembling the gun. When i shoot it, the gun locks up to an open chamber the stopper does not even stop it its just feels like the upper half is grinding w/ the lower half( i have to push the slide forward to get it to re-a-line) it keeps locking no matter how i keep putting it back together. But it doesn't seem to lock up when i cock the gun though, so it has to have something to do with the force of the blow back ill show pics of it stuck in a bit.

I know painting it could have caused the problem but when i check it the upper part and other moving parts dont seem to touch the lower plastic apart form the middle metal part.

Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

BTW any vids on how to properly disassemble and re-assemble a KJW hi-capa(sold at most online retailers here) would really help too.

Ok i have the pics here now.

If you look closely the gun is stuck. I can push it back and ittle shoot every time and lock up every time.

Its super new and its killing me right now!

Looks like you layered the paint on the gun judging by the messed up "Tanio Koba" logo, I'd sand away at the paint until the slide does not rub

Thenooblord May 28th, 2009 23:37

no, paint on the grip will have no effect on the slides function, the slide runs on a mid frame, not the grip, their completely separate

Nice paint job by the way

Thenooblord May 28th, 2009 23:45

this may also be related to the C02, c02 likes to make clone guns explode, so you may have just happened to blow something up at the same time that you decided to paint it,
why didnt you get propane?

Richand May 28th, 2009 23:46

Thats true, thats y i don't blame my crappy paint job, as much as i would have wanted too. there is no moving slide on the painted receiver. I can feel the tight fin on the slide, but have noooo idea whats causing it, it also feels like when i shoot the strong blow back puts it off line. Is there a way to reduce the blow back?

Any theories help atm lol.

Richand May 28th, 2009 23:48

i did get propane, just that i have no adapter and all that for now, like i said its super new, and i have alot of co2 from previous guns. + kinda unsafe to shoot propane in a small room... didnt want to be a prop head lol

Thenooblord May 28th, 2009 23:48

heavier recoil spring, use propane instead of C02

but if its the C02 doing it, the damage is already done

Richand May 28th, 2009 23:50

damn... kinda weird though that the gun was designed to use co2.

U guys think using Green gas in the future will keep it running?

pjosephsmith May 28th, 2009 23:54

i litterally know nothing about gbb guns other than mine really needs gun lube. but shouldnt their be some kind of adaptive valve that either reduces or increases the gas output? thinking co2 12gs are compressed you would need something that reduces it. i dont know. like i said i litterally know nothing im just putting my input in. but will follow up and see whats posted. this has my attention

pjosephsmith May 28th, 2009 23:55

btw nice paint job. i'm going to go after one of those soon and i much rather co2 as well. so i do feel your pain on this

BTW this is my hicapa ;p

Nice high capa! Sure beats a simple paint job.

Oh we seem to think its the barrel locking up the gun, It seems to get disalined and tightens it self up.

Anyone know how to overcome this?

We found this out cause we can now recreate the problem w/o shooting
