Not without skills and tools most people do not possess.

And is it worth the time and effort to save 40$?

Tools? it seems like you need to take out the motor gear, spring and what else is there, cut the "stick" to the length of v3 and put the motor gear back.

And you save more than $40 if it's a magnum :)

Does the magnum have a press on pinoin gear, or is it a set screw? Either way, you'd just have to pull the pinion gear off, remove the spring, remove aluminium spacer.

Then, take one of your old motors, measure with a set of calipers from the back of the motor to the front of your pinion. Mark this line on the long series motor, and cut the shaft at that mark. If the pinion gear was on with a set screw, you might have to grind a small flat on the shaft for the set screw to sit on. If its pressed on, you'll have to find something to press it on with, DO NOT hammer it on.

Its definitly worth your wild if you found a used one at a good price to convert it IMO.

Hope this helps.

You will need one of these. Motor Pinion Gear Tool.

It should have a set screw if it's a Magnum.
