Tanaka Releasing New Browning HP-Canadian Model

According to Airsoft-news.eu, Tanaka is still alive and well. They should be pumping out two Browning Hi-Power models sometime in May, if all goes well. They will be producing the Inglis Canadian version, and the Chinese version.

Original post at the top of the Airsoft-news page, as of time of posting here.

But will they be wall hangers or actually worth the purchase to take to the field??

Probably the same internally as the old ones, so low powered and not very skirmishable. But there may be upgrades yet, just have to wait and see.

Got to try one of these (not the Cdn edition). Beautiful gun, but about as useful as tits on a nun. Velocity and range suck. The blowback is slow and weak with a slow cycle time. IMO, it's not even fun to shoot. It's made of lightweigth, weak plastic. And of course, if you try to use propane, you'll basically explode your slide and / or internals within a few shots.

If you want a cool display / collection piece, then yeah, this is a great gun to add. Very original in terns of airsoft, as no one else makes it. If you're looking for a gameable gun though, look elsewhere. I'd take an NBB clearsoft pistol over this any day for gaming.

You could quote that word for word on the Tanaka USP. The finish isn't even as nice as a KSC so not even wall hanger worthy.

If you want a pistol for a Canadian loadout get a Sig Sauer 226 or 225. You can pick from a run of makers, get holsters other than a 1970s enclosed version, and find spare mags almost lying in the street.

The Canadian Browning is pretty nice but I like the Taiwanese Heavy Weight better.
Thus far I have been pretty happy with the performance. It's nothing to write home about but then I only use a pistol for very close in business.

I don't think this is a "re-release"....the one listed on airsoft-news is listed as a Heavy Weight version, I think the old Canadian Browning HP was not a HW version....

Hm, good point. That might mean the plastic will be a bit more durable. Still not enough to reliably take HFC22 probably. Fixed the title. Either way that was an oversight on my part, sorry about that.

I've have a regular version of the tanaka hi power and let me tell you the propane rumours are very false. It does shoot relatively low but she takes propane like a pro. I've skirmished her a few times with positive results but yes, to any one wanting one, its very skirmishable and takes propane well.

all i see in this is that Tanaka is alive and well:D

HAZZAHS AND BEER ALL AROUND! :)

i keep the canadian version, although it performs well by hfc134 gas, still not recommand for skirmishing!!
btw, unfortunatly,i lost my airtight rubber of the mag,it doesnot run right now,the big problem i have to face is how i can find another new mag?or my gun will die!
at last,i hate the damn WA's magum magzine design!its damn stupid!!
