I heard from someone that it's made by KWC Taiwan. I checked their website and it says that the KWC Taiwan version only holds 15 rounds.

Look around for better prices, I've seen some for around $60 (silver metal slide).

EDIT: KWC makes an airsoft version that fires 6mm bbs.

That's a pellet gun, not an airsoft gun. KWC is an airsoft company.

Yes it is. I was going to link to this website, cheapest price I've seen so far. Same gun, just has a silver slide. Frame is plastic, but slide is metal.

The slide is not metal. Only the magazine is according to a reviewer.

BTW I bought the metal slide one on buyaisoft.ca. Did I get ripped off really badly?

Guess I'm wrong on that part then. Probably the difference between the $80 and $100 is just the metal slide...but since it's a non-blowback pellet gun it doesn't really matter except for feel.

Lowest I've seen the black one so far is $95...so you didn't really get ripped off, unless buyairsoft themselves rips you off because they have a pretty bad reputation.

A few last questions though:

1. Based on the overall performance (including feel and performance and everything), was this gun a rip off?

2. I heard from some people that hop up is not very good, having problems like if you hold the gun sideways the bb will curve to the corresponding side. Do you think this gun can have its hop up function turned off?

3. Are pellet BBs really inaccurate? I heard that because of the shape of the BB, it is easily affected by natural factors such as wind. Plus since the barrel isn’t rifled (I guess it can’t be since it has backspin already), will hitting a target with this gun be very difficult?

With my limited experience with air rifles and air pistols, I've found that they are fairly accurate for target shooting and for getting rid of pest problems. Most air pistols are of such low velocity that they're really only good for target shooting at close ranges (50ft or so) anything beyond that the bb would probably just drop...however this particular gun has a "hop-up" style design that will put a backspin on the bb and make it go further than a gun without hop-up.

You shouldn't be firing your gun sideways, if you do you should stop watching rap videos. With hopup, your gun is meant to be fired "normally"...if you fire your gun sideways the bb will go off sideways in that direction after 20-30 feet.

If you're looking for something to take care of pests, get a pellet gun that fires pellets and not .177 cal BBs. But if you're looking for something to plink with and take out targets, popcans, etc. a BB gun will work fine. When I lived back home I was able to hit targets at about 200-300 feet in my backyard, by arching my shots until I hit the target. But a realistic distance is probably somewhere around 80 feet for an accurate shot.

If you're looking for something that is really accurate, get a pellet gun. They shoot harder and there is a much wider variety of ammunition you can use for various types of shooting (hunting pellets, hyper-velocity pellets in sabots, hollow point pellets, wadcutters, etc.).

What are you looking to use this gun for? It will be easier to make a determination on if this was a good gun choice for you.

And BTW, hop up basically is just instead of pumping air in the middle of the gun, it pumps air at the bottom part, right?

i believe hop up is purely an airsoft thing...correct me if i'm wrong. hop-up is for rounded projectile and pellets are not rounded.
edit: nvm...it shoots bb's and apparently it does have a hop up according to the site. if it's anything like the hop-ups on airsoft guns, it's a piece of rubber that the bb hits on its way out the barrel to create a back-spin in an effort to increase range and accuracy.

Probably similar or exactly the same device in use on these new pellet guns.

As an air pistol, it will be accurate for short distances...it's only shooting ~330fps so it's fairly low velocity compared to most bb rifles (most have minimum 350fps) and even some other bb air pistols. I've found that pellet guns have a much higher velocity compared to most BB guns...if you have a small backyard or you're shooting in your basement you've picked a decent starting pistol. If you have a big backyard, or big place where you'll be shooting...you may want to reconsider your purchase and get a different air pistol or rifle.

I don't have any experience with this specific gun, or this new line of hop-up air pistols, but I'm sure this gun will be great for plinking...and some close range target practice.
