Back to the mp7, piston timing

i have the newer version of the tf7. i got brave and watced a video on yotube on the mechbox. i took it apart to check on the tappet plate which is fine(gun is misfiring). i found an issue that the return spring was too stiff for the tappet plate to move all the way back so i cut it just a hair to solve that problem. my only issue is that the timing in the piston seems to be off. the gears are running fine and the tappet plate is now moving all the way back. does anyone in here know how to set the timing on the piston for an mp7. the internals are identical to a tm. i just need the timing set right so that it fires properly and smoothly. any ideas?????

In a normal mechbox there's no such thing as gear timing.. can't imagine it's different for an MP7. What symptoms led you to this conclusion?

the nozzled almost seems to be working backwords right now in the sence when uve stopped firing its foward but when u are firing it will go all the way back. the chamber should be in the open postion to allow another bb in after a full firing cycle. whay im thinking is that the gear the drives the piston isnt on the right spot of the piston. is there suposed to be a cetain line up of those two parts to insure the thing fires properly
???

did you try too shoot it? (like with bbs) sound to me like it's working 100% and your just over thinking how it works.

yes i tried shooting it its still missfeeding. its sounding like the bb'sare gettin caught in the chamber and the nozzle is striking the bbs before they fully enter the chmber if that makes sense.

Is the hop-up dialed down?

yes the hop up is dialed down.

At the end of a cycle, the nozzle should be forward. It only gets drawn back again when a new cycle begins.

really ...well then i dont know what the issue is. just doesnt let the balls feed properly nothing seems broken. i totally ripped it apart today and couldnt find a thing. is it possible that the tappet plate isnt goin back far enough and how would i be able to fix that? should i take off more of the spring to ease the pressure on the return of the nozzle or simply just find a weaker spring?

lemegacool April 21st, 2009 19:40

maybe faulty mag? any other mags to test? it cant be a timing problem because, as stated, timing is inexistant in airsoft mechboxes

edit: is the tappet bent or intact, because if its bent it can cause it to not move back enough

heavyzero April 21st, 2009 19:53

like i said the tappet plat seems to be fine. harbringer of darkness said the return sprig seemed a little stiff so i barely cut a bit off to easy the pressure. sha do told me to lightly file the feeding chamber. unortunately i dont have another mag but that also seems to be working fine. its pushing the balls up. everytime i take the make out winded theres at least 3 bbs falling out just like my functioning mp5

Perhaps a ripped or faulty/out of place hopup rubber.

heavyzero April 21st, 2009 21:26

i checked that too there a rivet that lines up with the barrel to make sure the hopup is pointed in the right direction.

Not the hopup chamber, the hopup RUBBER may be ripped or have problems with it.

i was talking about the rubber lol. i understand its very difficult to diagnos a gun problem with typed words. i think it might be the return spring on the tappet plate. it still may be too stiff.
