Not happy with stock Kraken aftermath.

Hello, I am looking for parts for my kraken.
I got a bunk kraken aftermath black / tan from buypaintball.ca
It only shoots 300fps and how i know that is because i tested it on a coke can with the .2gram bb's from aftermath and it only piereced one side.

It says 370fps out of the box but i got crapped out.
And now i feel like i'm getting outranged by other players lol because my desert eagle shoots at 300fps too so why not just whip out a pistol all day.

I'm looking for around 385-400fps for my kraken and I wanted a tight bore barrel.
Can you suggest me what I need from airsoftparts.ca?

Some 455mm barrel and a Modify S100 spring. Maybe a V3 bearing spring guide as well.

The advertised 370fps on your gun is probably with 0.12's.

The following parts in a Kraken are worth your serious consideration for upgrading to durable/reliable/quality parts:
- tappet plate (Modify v3)
- air nozzle (Modify air seal)
- spring guide (Modify bearing v3)
- spring (for FPS...if you do all these parts and set it up nicely a Modify S100 will put you safely under most field limits, 400fps...a Modify S110 might put you over)
- piston head (Modify poly vented bearing)
- piston (Modify poly, full tooth)
- grease (stickyG stuff is pretty good)
- cylinder head (Modify v3)
- cylinder (maybe not if the interior surface is smooth)
- inner barrel (Madbull 6.03 black python v2...AK length)
- hopup rubber (with this setup I'd use a Guarder black)
- shims (Modify ones are fine...but shims are shims)

For most, if not all of those parts...Modify makes quite good stuff, and airsoftparts stocks them all.

BTW...all of those parts may not be necessary...your piston/nozzle compression just might need to be tweaked.

Good luck!

Nice stuff I'll be certaintly ordering it all when it all comes in stock (currently one of them is on preorder and i'd rather like it all at once :D)

Good Luck ! putting all those parts by yourself.

PM Jugglez (he runs Airsoftparts.ca), and just let him know what you want. If he doesn't have it in stock, it might be part of an incoming shipment already...even still, it's usually only 2 weeks or so to order in pretty much anything.

Best of luck.

Oh don't worry I'm gonan ask our local gun doc damage to install it for me :D haha. Hey what size cylinder do i get since you didn't specify!

Defcon_Carl April 10th, 2009 23:52

300 fps wow! boy you got lucky its indoor ready :D btw how far where you when you shot the can. with the poor mans chrono, you need to be point blank from the coke can and if it pierces one side only then its 300 if you were standing 10feet away and it pierced one side thats close to 360 fps or more.

xPhuong April 11th, 2009 00:00

no man i put the fricken thing right at point blank the barrel was touching the can and it only pierced one sidE! i was liek WOW WEAK.

yuhaoyang April 11th, 2009 00:36

you have to hold the can with your hand while you shoot it
mine is a consistant 380 in winter

Defcon_Carl April 11th, 2009 00:38

some krakens i know of came 350 stock but i never seen one that shoots 300. i guess thats a good thing since it will hold up pretty well with nylon bushings as oppose to 370fps.

xPhuong April 11th, 2009 00:42

Is that accurate I thought your not suppose to hold the can when you shoot it.?

Edit: i read the poor man's chronograph guide it says not to hold the can. It messes up the details.

you dont have to literally hold it. you can just pin it with one hand while the other one shoots it point blank.

xPhuong April 11th, 2009 00:58

I will retest it then. I don't wanna waste money on parts if I don't have to if it's firing at it's advertised rate. lol i'll get back to you guys tmrw.

Shoot it through a chronograph.

These can tests are dumb.

Also, FPS means the square root of jack shit.
