hop up problems....
 

well i fitted the new hop rubber/bucking(Guarder) with a H-Hop, but once i had it all installed i noticed the bump inside the hopup wasnt centered, it was sort of to one side....


everything was in correctly, but i took it apart again to check, ended up ripping the guarder rubber !!!!! so im waiting on a few more now.

anyways, i noticed that the nub was catching on the window it goes throw to press into the hop rubber, so im pretty sure its making the nub lay angled once its all together.

anyone else had this problem with flash molding?

i reinstalled a different nub and its exactly the same, even with the Standard Rubber so i guess its always done it :S

any ideas on how to fix it?

its a standard JG 2 piece hopup

I am going to assume it's a M4 hopup chamber?

Using tweezers to get that nub seated correctly is a giant pain in the arse. I suggest you take apart your hopup chamber so you can access the strike set (lever), use a tiny bit of crazy glue or silicon gel and attach the nub onto the lever, and carefully put the chamber back together.

yes its a m4 chamber, i stripped it right down when fitting the nub and when i test it to make sure its going through ok it gets jammed in the window and i need to poke it through to get it out again :(

not wanting to glue the nub on because im not sure what nub im going to stick with.

Just use the silicon oil to stick the nub where it needs to go. Re-assmble upside down so gravity works with you.

But,,,

you may need to trim down the nub, or widen the hole where it presses on the rubber so it doesn't keep going cockeyed.

i have spray silicon oil, will that do?

im going to try trimming off some of the excess plastic thats catching the nub, it must have been like this from new. which is weird because its didnt curve left up until a few weeks ago:S

Just put a drop of oil on your finger, roll the nub in it and then it'll stick in the notch so you can get it into place.

silcone oil or white lithium grease holds parts in place - then when you get the hop up back together - there's nothing to worry about, since it's lube and will actually benefit you in the end.

all fixed, the arm had a bit of excess plastic aswell so now the Nub is sitting nice and flat :D

The window that the nub clears should be slightly smaller than the nub. I spent a good 45 mins to an hour trying to get the nub to sit properly, then i decided to tear apart the hopup chamber and put it onto the adjustment lever.
