oh, and the plastic are REALLY prone to stripping, never over tight any screws on there, it will strip itself to death.

Donster February 15th, 2009 11:24

dude, no matter what, a clone will never perform as well as the real deal cause the tolerances are not as tight on the clone. if you are dying for performance, than get a TM VSR-10, not a JG

I don't own one, but I've gamed with one and game with a guy who has one. I don't have any TM bolt action to compare it to, but I can say that it's excellent. As far as range and accuracy goes, it's on par with my upgraded G3 which can hit a crouched man about half the time at 150 feet (which bothers me because I've put a ton of money into that AEG and his is stock). It felt a little light to me, but it does the job well, so far he's had no problems with it. Very quiet too, sometimes we play one on one games (so it's not like there's a lot of other noise out there in the bush) and I can't hear the shot.

i own one (gspec) and i'm in love with it, stock it was relatively accurate for a 303mm barrel, after upgrades... this gun absolutely rocks! i've changed the sears, spring guide, cylinder head, hop up bucking(firefly hard) and inner barrel (pdi 6.01 430mm) the accuracy i get out of the pdi barrel is awesome! i shoot accurately at about 150ft with .30g bb's, BUT i have the stock spring witch gives me 290 fps! so i expect it to be pretty deadly at 380-400 fps! i've kept the stock cylinder/piston since they gave me near perfect compression!. i also cutted the airbrake on the piston and putted a sorbo pad on the cylinder head (for noise reduction) . i think that's it! ;)

An upgraded tokyo marui will preform better than an upgraded clone.

My upgraded marui firing 430 FPS on .2's will float a BB out to 200 feet accurately.

i send you pm for a well or utg l 96

Now I have to say that I've been tossed around both ways on this issue. If you upgrade the JG BAR-10 as much as possible-- meaning bucking, trigger assembly(Laylax Zero Trigger), cylinder head, spring guide, cylinder, inner barrel, bolt handle(which I'm still not sure why is neccesary), and barrel spacers-- wouldn't that perform just as well as the TM VSR-10? I mean the only difference is the outer barrel, and stock, which in my mind doesn't really account for much. Even if you took away some of the lesser upgrades, I feel like it would still perform just as well. Please correct me on this.

I had a clone, AGM to be exact. I thought it would be easy to gut it and make it awesome but it wasn't totally TM compatible as it had stated. Through the process of stripping the gun discovering stripped screws, that was a major headache.
Needless to say, I sold it and got a TM of which was a joy to work on. Even though you pay more for a quality gun that you'll pretty much rebuild, the gun will last you longer perform better.
Also in regards to the bolt handle, I think its to get out of the way of the scope. My stock handle was in my way.
