Type 97 Query:
Read the thread here and other places. Has anyone handled one, or read of someone who did, who cared about anything fucking useful about the design?
http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/news2/2072 They spend pages on how magnets stick to it, and fuck all about anything useful. Can anyone enlighten if the rear safety can be used frequently comfortably (ie engaged every time you move)? How about the charging handle? And the sights; too high, just right, apertures too big or small? What about with optics mounted? Magazine release, single-handed and doable with a loaded mag already in hand? Really looking at one of these, but need interweb expertise to find useful information. |
I'll get back to you in roughly 2 weeks.
Edit: From what I know so far is that EVERYTHING is CNC'd, and made out of high grade steel or 7075 T6 Aluminum. |
rgr. Looks like you push the mag release button with the left index finger, which should be doable. Trigger guard seems spacious enough for gloves. But it might as well not have a safety at all, from appearances.

Wonder if mag changes can be mastered... It seems to have an AR magazine, mag well, and magazine release, but instead of using right index finger it's done with left hand; you have to hold two magazines and also push a button - funked up.

Hmm, the Type95 reloading is exactly the same as an AK.

It's just different, something that you've got to get use to.
Re-loading a bullpup is quite a bit different than a standard gun... I just wish they would have incorporated a system like the MP5 where you've got both a button and a lever. |
That's pretty great stuff there Sino, thanks, or shi shi. I tried mag changes while holding an M4 by the barrel with my right hand and was quite worried. Thanks for the good news.
P.S. Holding the full mag before removing the spent (even partially) one is highly recommended. Looks like retaining the empty mag might require dexterity, but you've shown it's quite possible so I'm sure if I practice it will become smooth. P.P.S. Thanks again for the pictures, but next time keep the finger off the trigger! Lol just noticed. |
